The 2012 NBA Playoffs are in full swing. In the west, the San Antonio Spurs swept the Utah Jazz to nobody’s surprise, winning by double-digits in three of the games. The Memphis Grizzlies stay alive with a win at home against the Clippers, who almost closed an over 20 point deficit. Chris Paul and Blake Griffin also had to leave the game late in the fourth quarter. Their return for the next game is not known at this point.
The Lakers hold a 3-2 advantage in the series versus the Nuggets, they look to close it out on the road against Denver. The Lakers are struggling on defense as they are missing Ron Artest (aka Metta World Peace) due to his seven game suspension. Oklahoma swept the defending champion Dallas Mavericks in a dominating fashion. In what is probably Jason Kidd’s final game, the Oklahoma Thunders were able to rally to sweep the Dallas Mavericks, they now wait for the winner of the Lakers/Nuggets series.
In a strike shortened season, all of the remaining teams have a legitimate shot to win it all as every team has their flaws and is beatable. This is why it will be hard to pick a winner. After checking the lines from the popular sports betting sites, it is going to be hard to pick a winner without doing all the research.
In the east the Chicago Bulls stayed alive with a game 5 win over the 76ers. They need one more win to force a decisive game 7, which may be tough on the road considering they will be without Joakim Noah. The Celtics are looking to close out the series at home as the Hawks were able to force a game 6. Boston has won both playoff games at home this year. The Indiana Pacers ousted the Orlando Magic in 6 games, they advance to the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 2005. The Pacers will face the Miami Heat. The Heat eliminated the New York Knicks and ended any chance for a Cinderella run. Jeremy Lin opted to sit out. He is recovering from surgery on his left knee.
